On Friday 7 June Hamersley Comets, NWA, and many GIG WANL Clubs paid tribute to and congratulated Comets Club Captain and Open Women's Captain Lindal Rohde on her 250th WANL game.

Lindal has long been revered as the best centre court player in the GIG WANL, and has set the bar high for all others to aspire to. Her speed and athleticism married with insane ball handling skills keeps everyone on the edge of their seats.

Lindal came through the Hamersley Netball Club junior / senior pathway, then quickly found she was a wanted player for a number of WANL teams and Underage State teams. This culminated in her selection into WAIS and she was successful in winning Western Stings 1st Gold Medal.

Western Australia lost Lindy to the UK’s Super League competition for a couple of years and on her return to Perth was a replacement player for West Coast Fever.

Lindy, your athleticism, determination and tenacity is inspirational and all who know you or who have played aside you can vouch for the amazing impact you make on and off the netball court.

This was evident in 2023 when you were instrumental in Hamersley Comets winning the GIG WANL Open Women's Premiership.

You aren’t only an incredibly talented netballer, you’re an outstanding human being, who is humble, compassionate, caring and inspiring.
