Congratulations To All Our 2023 Jill McIntosh Award Winners

Michelle Cox in her inaugural year of coaching the Comets Open team has been crowned "Netball WA GIG WANL Coach of the Year" at the Jill McIntosh Awards. Michelle earned her stripes by coming through the very powerful coaching pathway system at Hamersley Netball Club over a 20+ year period. Mish your finals run was incredible - winning the Semi was something else - drawn at full time, drawn in overtime and then going on to win by 2 goals a heart stopping performance by yourself and your whole team. The grand final was another epic game to Premiership glory.

Hamersley Comets are incredibly proud of your achievement Mish, congratulations.

Mia Henderson has been an integral member of Hamersley Comets in our 5 year young history. Mia your popularity, wisdom, caring nature and being a sounding board for all our athletes and staff saw you recognised as the Hamersley Comets Club person of the Year and now the "Netball WA GIG WANL Heart of Gold Club Person of the Year".

Congratulations Mia, we are all very proud of you and the service you give to the club. We look forward to a long association with you at Comets in the future.

Josh Harrington is a whirlwind of high octane positive energy. Nothing is too much to ask of Josh - he is a "Make it happen person". Josh joined the Bench Officials in 2022 and loved the experience and this year in 2023 took it another step to officiate at the Underage Nationals. Being ranked in the top list to win a grand final berth on the 19U Grand Final. Throughout the Netball WA GIG WANL Competition Josh was an integral member to revamping the scoring system.

Congratulations Josh, Hamersley Comets are very proud of you - and I believe he will promote his experience as an official to anyone that will listen.

Jordan Cransberg the first time I met you over a video phone call, told me you were going to be a gem. A training partner with West Coast Fever your time with us in 2023 was on the training court once a week and missed a number of games due to Fever away games, but that didn't stop you jumping off planes and racing to training with either the Open or Mens sessions and it was the extra things you did and still do resonates with the Comets players and obviously your competitors within the 8 GIG WANL Clubs.

Jordi we were blessed the day you signed with Hamersley Comets thank you, congratulations on being voted by your peers as Netball WA GIG WANL Players' Player of the Year.

Clara Wigley congratulations on a whirlwind 2023 netball season. You work incredibly hard Clara and deserve anything that comes your way. This all in one year for a 16 year old WOW, it only seems yesterday you were on court 25 at WDNA learning your trade as a 12 year old centre court player at Hamersley Netball Club.
